We cordially invite you to the CCRD Conference, We, the City: Democracy and Innovative Practices of Participation in Berlin and Istanbul which will take place in Berlin on November 2-4, 2022. Together with scholars, students, urban activists and initiatives, and policymakers from Berlin and Istanbul, we will discuss the idea of a democratic city, innovative and egalitarian participation practices, and the potential of cities to produce democratic solutions to the challenges of our times.
The Berlin Senate Chancellery will host our opening lecture at the Red Town Hall on November 2nd, 2022 at 18:00.
Our keynote speaker is Erik Swyngedouw and his lecture title is „Illiberalism and the Democratic Paradox: Emancipation reworked and the post-politicization of the city“.
